בִּכְלָל זֶה יְבֹאַר אִסּוּר קַבָּלַת לָשׁוֹן הָרָע, אִם נֶאֱמר בִּפְנֵי שְׁלֹשָׁה אוֹ בְּפָנָיו. וְדִין אִם שָׁמע הַסִּפּוּר מֵהַרְבֵּה אְנָשִׁים, אוֹ שֶׁקּוֹל יוֹצֵא בָּעִיר, אוֹ מִמֵּסִיחַ לְפִי תֻּמּוֹ, אוֹ מִמְּהֵימָן לֵהּ כְּבֵי תְּרֵי, וּבוֹ י"ד סְעִיפִים.
In this principle there will be explained the issur of the acceptance of lashon hara, whether it were stated before three or before him [alone], and the din if he heard it from many people or it were publicized in the city, or one spoke it "in his innocence," or [the speaker were] one who was believed by him as two [witnesses] are. It contains fourteen sections.
